About
When one thinks of the archetype of an IT professional, they might envision Nick Burns, Your Company’s Computer Guy (a classic skit on Saturday Night Live) or someone who wears a pocket protector and doesn’t interact well with humans. But, you’d be wrong on multiple levels. Self-published author, cosplay enthusiast and actor are not attributes of the archetype. And yet, they are attributes of Alice. She is an enthusiast of the horror and fantasy genres which informs the books she has penned (available on Amazon, by the way) as well as the characters she chooses for cosplay and the video games she plays. While she’s not what you’d expect for the position, she’s maybe exactly who you’d expect to fill that position at Dark Horse. Also, it doesn't hurt that she grew up on an equestrian boarding farm either, pun intended.
Alice graduated from John Tyler Community College in Virginia. Thereafter, she spent four years in the IT department of a large retailer, touching just about every area of technology from hardware to cyber security to network and software maintenance. For the year prior to joining Dark Horse, she worked in an IT helpdesk that served hundreds of employees; experience that she will be able to leverage at Dark Horse.
Outside of work, you might find Alice in Virginia visiting her family’s horse ranch. You might also find her on TV as an extra in various shows shot local to her current Washington DC home. Otherwise, she might be writing her latest fiction novel, playing video games, baking, running or playing with her kittens. In other words, it’s unlikely you’ll find her at rest.
