"If you weren't thinking you wouldn't of thought that."
— “Squints” (The Sandlot)
From Camp Pendleton to Okinawa to Quantico to Burma to Ashgabat to Turkmenistan to Luxembourg, the Marine Corps took Andrew Vargas around the world. Initially trained as a Ground Radio Technician, Andrew quickly diversified his IT knowledge and experience. He would later join the Army as a Reserve Engineer where he would have been deployed to Afghanistan but for an injury suffered during training that kept him home. Andrew had plenty going on despite this, having completed his degree and getting married during the same year.
During the following four years, Andrew worked for the Post Office while attending the Army’s IT training course, training to become a Satellite Communication Operator and completing a course that would allow him to become an instructor to teach the IT course to new Army soldiers. After a brief transitionary period between the Post Office and becoming an IT contractor at Kirtland AFB, he helped his wife launch her dog grooming business. He then landed gigs as an IT System Administrator and Satellite Operations Specialist for the Space Force. So, yeah, Andrew has done and seen a lot in his years leading him to Dark Horse.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Andrew is both an active member of his local church and a volunteer in his community. And, of course, Andrew is a family man. This family has grown over the years to include his wife, four children, and approximately 500 dogs that are clients of their dog grooming business, which continues to thrive a decade later.
