Be bold or italic, never regular.
Ashley joined Dark Horse CPAs with 17 years of accounting experience and a genuine love for making financial processes work better for everyone. Her favorite part of the job is taking complex numbers and turning them into clear, useful information that actually makes sense.
Ashley knew she wanted to be an accountant since junior year of high school, and after earning her degree in Financial Management from the University of Alabama in 2008, she dove headfirst into public accounting. She's done it all, from accounts payable to tax work to grant writing, but found her sweet spot in governmental accounting. For almost 11 years at the City of Tuscaloosa, she's worked her way up from accountant to Director of Finance & Special Projects for the Water & Sewer Department. While she jokes that she's "not great at writing," she can absolutely "whip up a spreadsheet in a heartbeat."
When she's not crunching numbers, Ashley loves life on Lake Tuscaloosa with her husband (her high school best friend!) and their two kids, ages 13 and 8. They built their forever home right on the water where they spend their free time fishing and enjoying lake life. Whether she's balancing budgets or casting fishing lines, Ashley brings the same enthusiasm and attention to detail to everything she does.
