Christine’s love for accounting started in a high school class. Her favorite part was always balancing to the penny. After high school, she worked as an Accounts Payable Clerk before moving to Chico for school. While attending college, she enjoyed working as a Cost Accounting Clerk for a number of years before settling into working at a CPA firm as she completed her degree. After obtaining her accounting degree, she worked for the government accounting office in her hometown of San Clemente, where she met her husband. She scaled back her workload while raising her children. But now, with her son getting ready to head off to college and her daughter obtaining her driver’s license, Christine found herself with more free time.
Christine decided the best thing to do with her spare time was to grow her career. A timely conversation with Dark Horse Principal Hayes Hokanson (who she had been longtime friends with) led to an opportunity to do just that. Hayes told her all about Dark Horse CPAs, which seemed to be a perfect fit! And so, she now finds herself wearing the hat (literally) of a Dark Horse CPA. She has extensive experience with small businesses and not-for-profit entities in areas such as sales tax, payroll tax and income taxes, to name a few.
When not working or caring for her family, Christine enjoys walking the trails of San Clemente, playing tennis, and spending time with her dogs. The family loves camping trips to Baja, enjoying the secluded beaches and culture Mexico offers.
