Jocylyn doesn’t cook the books. Cooking, however, led her to the books. During her undergrad studies, she initially pursued a culinary major. Part of the curriculum was taking an accounting course. She soon found that she preferred the ingredients of accounting, the debits and the credits, versus the ingredients of a delicious meal…although she still enjoys the consumption end of that process.
She was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio where she lives to this day. She started her career in accounting as an intern at the age of 19 with McLain, Hill, Rugg & Associates which would later merge-in to Dark Horse CPAs. In her job, she enjoys doing all things payroll.
Outside of her payroll and accounting work, she still enjoys to cook using ingredients from her garden. She also enjoys playing video games and playing with her pets, which include two dogs, a cat, three snakes and a bearded dragon. And, of course, she loves spending time with her fiancé.
