EDUCATION
Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it
— Maya Angelou
The fact that Kevin Sevier became a financial advisor while much of his family are mostly educators shouldn’t surprise you. The core of the job, after all, is education. After taking a finance course in college, it became immediately apparent that this knowledge was sorely lacking in the traditional education system. Thus, he had a falling out with his family for their failure to equip students with the practical and necessary knowledge and skills of personal finance. Kidding of course, no such fallout occurred. What did occur, however, was a passion to teach others and guide clients through the world of personal finance.
Kevin is one of the few San Diego natives out there, and his childhood looked like an outsider might expect; surfing, skateboarding and playing beach volleyball. He began his degree at UC Santa Barbara, and moved back to San Diego to complete it at California State University San Marcos. He has since spent 2 decades as an independent financial advisor.
He currently resides in Carmel Valley alongside his wife, Megan, their daughter, Makena, and their 4-legged child known as TJ. Outside of educating and advising on all things finance, Kevin spends most of his time outdoors. Snowboarding, riding dirt bikes, traveling to tropical islands, camping in Yosemite, golfing (or “hacking” as he calls it), exploring the San Diego Zoo or heading down to Mexico to watch his favorite futbol team, the Xolos.
