"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" - Summer's Day by Mary Oliver
Matthew Gast is a real estate tax accountant who loves helping people make sense of complicated property rules and feel confident in their financial decisions. With a few years of hands-on experience, he’s built a reputation for being approachable, reliable, and genuinely invested in the clients he works with.
He was born and raised in Iowa and graduated from the small but spirited Buena Vista University, a place he remembers fondly for its tight-knit community. Before he ever thought about tax codes or depreciation schedules, he spent his high-school years on the football field, learning the teamwork and discipline that still shape how he works today.
After college, life led him to Phoenix, Arizona, where he’s spent the past few years building both his career and a life he loves including meeting his wonderful wife. When he’s not working, you’ll most likely find him outdoors. He’s passionate about visiting national parks and has already been to more than twenty, with the goal of eventually exploring every single one. His loyal adventure pack includes his wife and Cooper, his energetic German Shorthaired Pointer who never turns down a walk.
At home, he and his wife dream of one day owning a farm—complete with a big garden, plenty of space, and more animals than they can count. It’s a dream rooted in a love of nature, simplicity, and the idea of creating a life filled with meaning and fresh air.
Friendly, down-to-earth, and driven by curiosity, Matthew brings the same enthusiasm to his work as he does to the trails he hikes and the life he’s building. If there’s one thing he’s always up for, it’s a good conversation—especially if it involves travel plans, national park recommendations, or stories about Cooper.
